In this work, titled Three Steps, I focused on the everyday colors and raw materials that constantly surround me—specifically, flooring and wallpaper. By assembling planes into a three-dimensional form, a structure featuring three distinct tiers emerges, evoking the image of a staircase. However, it lacks the functional width of actual steps. By reconstructing the symbol of a staircase devoid of its utility, using materials that typically define functional living spaces, I question the boundaries between interior and exterior, function and ornament, and the nature of our everyday scenery.
本作『Three Steps』では、フローリング材や壁紙といった、私を常に囲んでいる身近な色や素材（日常の風景）に着目しました。面を立体的に構成することで現れるのは、階段を想起させる3つの段の形態です。しかし、そこには人が足を乗せるための「幅（ステップ）」が存在しません。 本来は生活空間の機能を支える建材を用いて、機能を持たない階段の記号を再構築することで、内と外、機能と装飾、そして日常の風景のあり方を問いかけています。
