This is the work is derived by watching a city. When I walk on the street, I see the entire town scenery, but I only remember a part of it in my brain. I unconsciously follow up the images of signboards and shapes of windows, roofs… Passing through my vision and remembering some in my brain. I put my imagination into this layered drawing.
For this piece, I captured shapes from the buildings and landscapes along the Ooka River in Yokohama. Following its opening as a trading port, Yokohama saw significant development in the textile printing and dyeing industry, driven in part by the rapid expansion of the raw silk market, with the Ooka River playing a central role in this history. Today, the area surrounding the river has transformed into a mix of residential and older commercial neighborhoods, yet subtle traces of that past era still remain embedded in the everyday scenery.

この作品は、都市を眺めるという行為から導き出されたものです。 街を歩くとき、私はその風景のすべてを目にしていますが、脳が記憶として留めているのはその断片に過ぎません。 看板のイメージ、窓の形、屋根の輪郭……。 無意識のうちにそれらの断片を追い、視界を通り過ぎる景色の中からいくつかを脳内に記憶していく。 この重層的なドローイングには、私の想像力が投影されています。
この作品では、横浜の大岡川沿いに佇む建築や風景からさまざまな形を抽出しています。開港以降の横浜では、生糸貿易の急成長を背景に繊維の捺染・染色産業が大きく発展し、大岡川はその中心的な役割を担いました。現在、川沿いには住宅や古い商業地が混在する地域へと変化していますが、当時の面影や繊細な痕跡は、今なお日々の風景の中にひっそりと息づいています。
