This exhibition, titled “A Fitting Pattern”, brings together three artists whose works contemplate what is carried forward—from past into future, from one life into another.

The venue itself was once a hotel, its floors still adorned with tiles of intricate and beautiful patterns.
In this space, where rooms once must have stood, I placed fragments that weave together past and present, Japan and Taiwan—traces of everyday scenes that continue to be handed down.
I imagine the lives once unfolding there: the gaze lingering on the patterned tiles, the murmur of sounds seeping through walls, the sunlight filtering through windows—echoes of moments I have also encountered in Japan and Taiwan, now resonating quietly within this place.

この展覧会は”A Fitting Pattern” と題し、三人の作家が過去から未来へ引き継がれる物事や思想をテーマに作品を製作した。

展覧会を開催した会場はかつてホテルだったという。その床には美しい様々な模様のタイルが施されていた。かつて部屋があったであろうその空間に、私は現在と過去、日本と台湾を繋ぐ要素を配置し、引き継がれる日常風景を断片的に配置した。そこでかつて行われていた日常生活。床のタイルを眺めながら、ホテルがあったときのこと、日本や台湾での生活の中で出会った、壁を伝い聞こえる音や、窓を通る日の光を想う。
