The “Trace” series is a work developed from the observation of chairs in fieldwork. As you stroll through the city, you will see chairs outside the house. The chair is there without moving. And it’s a place where people can come in, sometimes get together, wait for something, and talk. Time is carved on the seat, back and legs.
作品「Trace」シリーズはフィールドワークの中で行なっている椅子の観察から展開した作品である。街の中を散策していると、住宅の外に置かれている椅子を見かける。椅子は動くことなくそこにある。そしてやってくる人を受け入れ、そのに人々が時に集い、何かを待つ、話をする場となっている。その座面や背、脚には時間が刻まれていく。
